PNN.Com Covers Mendocino Film Festival
PNN.com Covers Mendocino Film FestivalIn an exclusive interview with Albert Maysles, PNN.Com introduces viewers to a behind the scenes look at documentary film making.
There was a time long ago when people gathered around the fire and listened to elders tell how it all came to be. Nowadays people sit in a dark room while the magic lantern plays images before our eyes. Surely the power of those moving pictures is as great as the stories of the elders.

PNN.com Redefines Scoial Networking
The World's Simplest Web-Publishing Tool

Rohnert Park, Calif. - PNN.com welcomes the non-blogging community to the ever-connected, fast paced world of the Internet. Surpassing traditional code-based social networking sites, PNN.com offers users a simple-to-follow, template based graphic menu with a drag-and-drop web page layout. Similar to the desktop publishing revolution, PNN.com leads the way in getting the offline community online.
"You don't have to know anything about the Internet to start blogging on PNN.com," says Jennifer Jacobson, vice president of marketing and a representative for PNN.com. "Many of our users can't explain what a blog is, but that doesn't stop them from adding stories, videos, pictures and music to their personal PNN.com web pages."
PNN.com believes sharing stories online should be easy and fun. PNN.com attracted over a thousand active authors in the four short months it has been online, and is now perfectly positioned for rapid growth and expansion.
"PNN.com puts media creation in the hands of everyone," says PNN.com founder Lauren Elliott. "It's like they've spent their lives waiting to connect with the online world, and for the first time they can be part of the conversation."

PNN & Kid's Talk
PNN.com Announces New Kid's Talk Radio, Talk Radio and Kids Talk School Channels
Rohnert Park, CA - PNN.com, the personal news network site focused on sharing and publishing independently produces stories, today announced the addition of Kids Talk Radio, Talk Radio and Kids Talk Radio Schools Channels to its lineup. Using the PNN publishing platform, Kids Talk Radio content will be distributed throughout the Internet, showing up on PNN.com's personal sites and itunes.
Every new show produced by Kids Talk Radio will be hosted and distributed around the web by PNN. Bob Barboza founder and CEO of Kids Talk Radio and Super School Software started Kid's Talk Radio in 2004. The shows are produced by children from ages 5 to 16 under the guidance of local teachers, trained paraprofessionals, parents and soon community leaders. The kids write the stories, operate all the equipment, and produce the shows.
"It's exciting working with PNN", Bob Barboza, said. "We will now have a common platform and new world wide exposure to the wonderful stories produced by these kids." "The idea that kids can hear stories from other kids their own age from around the world is not only a great learning tool but a powerful tool for understanding and compassion.
"The channels share a common goal," says Lauren Elliott CEO of PNN, "to provide the tools and education to the kids, then get out of the way, and let them tell their own stories"
The Kids Talk School channel will allow a private platform allowing sharing between enrolled schools. It includes charter schools, public and private schools and students that are being home schooled.
The Kids Talk and Talk Radio channels will be an open, worldwide platform for middle school and high school kids all over the world.

Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?
Author Launches New Network
Rohnert Park, Calif--Created specifically for the average person by Lauren Elliott, PNN (www.pnn.com) gives web users a familiar and easy to use desktop publishing tool that blurs the distinction between the mainstream media and the citizen journalist.
"All of us have stories and opinions," said Lauren Elliott, CEO of PNN. "Sharing these ideas with each other is what matters; the tools shouldn't be a barrier."
"A couple of years ago I helped my mother, Eleanor Roosevelt II, put together her stories about growing up with her aunt and famous namesake - Eleanor Roosevelt. The stories she told about putting a pony into FDR's elevator in the White House, or ER staying up to 3:00 am every evening to answer her mail, are wonderful, personal accounts that you don't soon forget. I realized then that it's these kinds of stories, told by all of us, that needed to be shared. In a way, PNN is a result of that feeling", said Lauren.
Until now it has been a frustrating experience for the average user to access the powerful publishing abilities of the new Web 2.0 technologies.
"We want to change the fact that only about 10% of the 150 million online Americans have ever posted to a blog," Lauren said. "We want to take the old-fashioned blogging experience and make it more intuitive, fun and accessible to everyone.
"It's the same as the desktop publishing revolution--we're just doing it for the web."
PNN.com combines an easy drag-and-drop interface and stunning graphics with the ability to post articles, pictures, audio and video from your desktop, cell phone, or pda.
"It's a changing world," Lauren said. Media consumers and creators are becoming one and the same. People can tell their own stories. We just provide the tools and get out of the way."

PNN Empowers Refugeess

PNN Empowers Refugees Through Multimedia and Forms The Stories Project
Rohnert Park, California - PNN Founder, Lauren Elliott launched The Stories Project today, a non-profit organization aimed at giving multimedia labs to Zambian Refugees and using technology to bring the world closer together. The Stories Project works to empower people in isolated places on earth to share their stories and culture, through access to online multimedia.
"It's like putting up virtual phone booths around the world, but this time calls are free, they are multimedia and the booths are located everywhere from Main street USA to remote refugee camps in Zambia," Lauren Explains. "It is our belief that providing this simple connection can be very powerful. It is also an effort that anyone, anywhere can contribute to".
Through The Stories Project, PNN helps raise awareness to the power of giving underserved people and groups a voice and place to share their personal stories through writing, photographs, audio and video. PNN hopes to to expand The Stories Project and provide further means for communication to any group that lacks the means or access.
Lauren goes on to add, "When kids in the U.S. share simple personal stories with a family from a refugee in a camp in Zambia, you get a kind of understanding and connection that is impossible to get any other way."
