SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE SEEN AT THE NORTH POLEPolar Explorer Doug Stoup Visits Sonoma County

In April, explorer Doug Stoup took social networking site PNN.com on his week-long trek to the North Pole. This weekend, PNN.com is bringing Doug Stoup to wine country.
"I don't think any other social networking site has ever been to the North Pole," said Lauren Elliott, founder of PNN.com. "But through satellite phone interviews, and daily photo and audio dispatches from Doug, all PNN users got to go to the North Pole with Doug."
"He even wrote PNN in the snow for us," said PNN journalist Jaime Martinez.
Stoup will be visiting Chop's Teen Center on Sunday, June 1, at 3 PM. He will give a slideshow presentation about his various Polar adventures. He will also grant interviews to teams of student journalists that will be attending the event.
"I have spoken with Doug on the telephone when he was at the North Pole, when he was at the South Pole, and just after he carried the torch in the Olympic Relay in London," says PNN journalist Jaime Martinez. "I haven't met him in person yet, but I have had so much contact with him through phone conversations and the Internet I feel like I already know him."
Stoup's presentation on June 1 is free and open to the public.
